Dr. Lindsay LaCorte is an osteopathic physician, functional medicine practitioner, and obstetrician/gynecologist. While she offers specialized services in women’s health, osteopathic treatments, and functional medicine consultations, she is not a replacement for a primary care physician (PCP). Dr. LaCorte works in collaboration with your primary care team to provide comprehensive care. She recommends that all patients maintain a primary care physician for routine health maintenance, screenings, and emergency care.

You can log on to your portal account to pay your bill. You may also pay your bill in person at your next appointment.
-
We accept most insurance plans for gynecology services and osteopathic treatments. To confirm if we are in-network with your specific plan, please contact your insurance company directly. As a courtesy, we will submit claims for your visit or procedure to your insurance company, but please note that your insurance determines what portion of the claim they will cover. If you receive a bill from us or a lab and believe it should have been covered by your insurance, please reach out to your insurance company to address any discrepancies.
It is important for you to understand your insurance coverage, including your copay and deductible, as financial responsibility for our services ultimately rests with the patient. We recommend verifying these details before your appointment to be aware of your financial obligations.
If you do not have insurance, please contact our office for an estimate of the cost for your visit or procedure.

Functional medicine programs and memberships are generally not covered by insurance. However, you may be able to use funds from Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) to pay for these programs. Since each plan has different rules, it is important to check with your HSA or FSA plan administrator to determine if these expenses are eligible for reimbursement under your specific plan.
Functional Medicine
-
Functional Medicine is a unique approach to finding the root cause of an ailment as well as healing an entire person, instead of focusing on just the symptoms. It takes into account the interconnectedness of bodily systems and emphasizes a holistic approach that includes lifestyle, diet, and environmental factors. Our bodies should work in harmony – spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and physiologically. Functional medicine takes a comprehensive approach to prevention, health, and well-being; treats root causes of disease; and restores healthy function through a personalized patient experience.
-
Yes, functional medicine is particularly effective for managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and chronic fatigue. By addressing the root causes and contributing factors of these conditions, functional medicine aims to improve overall health and quality of life.
-
During your first visit, Dr. LaCorte will conduct a comprehensive assessment that includes a detailed review of your medical history, lifestyle, and any current health concerns. Together you will discuss your health goals and any specific symptoms you're experiencing. Based on this information, she will create a personalized plan tailored to address your unique needs and help you achieve optimal health.

Osteopathic Medicine
-
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, complete four years of osteopathic medical school, with an emphasis on preventive medicine and comprehensive patient care. Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, DOs are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well. DOs practice in all medical specialties, including primary care, pediatrics, OBGYN, emergency medicine, psychiatry and surgery. While all DOs have additional training in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and use this tool to help diagnose, treat and prevent illness and injury, a select few pursue advanced training in specialized osteopathic techniques. These highly skilled practitioners focus on natural, non-invasive methods to treat patients, combining their extensive medical knowledge with advanced osteopathic techniques to enhance the body's ability to heal and function optimally.
-
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a hands-on approach used by osteopathic physicians (DOs) to diagnose and treat a wide range of health issues. It involves gentle, manual techniques to address problems in bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and fascia (connective tissue) that may cause pain or disrupt the function of the nervous system, circulation, or internal organs. By relieving restrictions in these areas, OMT supports the body's natural ability to heal itself. Rooted in a deep understanding of anatomy, OMT combines a variety of techniques, and each osteopathic physician customizes their approach based on the unique needs of the patient.
-
During an osteopathic treatment session, Dr. LaCorte will begin by taking a detailed medical history and performing a physical exam, focusing on how your bones, muscles, organs, and connective tissues work together. She will assess how your body moves as you breathe to identify any areas where motion is restricted or not functioning properly. To address these imbalances, Dr. LaCorte may use a variety of hands-on techniques, such as myofascial release to ease tension in soft tissues, muscle energy techniques to improve joint mobility, and cranial osteopathy to balance the flow of fluids and energy in the body. Other techniques include visceral manipulation to enhance organ function and counterstrain to release muscle tension. All these approaches involve applying gentle pressure or stretching to help your body restore its natural movement and healing abilities.
-
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) offers a comprehensive approach that can benefit a broad range of conditions, making it applicable across nearly all systems of the body. It is particularly effective for musculoskeletal issues such as back and neck pain, sciatica, bulging discs, pinched nerves, and muscle strains, while also providing relief for chronic headaches, including migraines and neuralgias. OMT is highly beneficial for arthritis, rheumatologic conditions like fibromyalgia and lupus, as well as sports injuries, falls, and connective tissue disorders like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Beyond musculoskeletal health, OMT can aid in managing digestive issues such as acid reflux, constipation, and abdominal pain, reflecting its wide applicability in supporting overall well-being.
-
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) can be highly beneficial during pregnancy, addressing common discomforts such as low back pain, pelvic pain, leg swelling, carpal tunnel syndrome, and round ligament pain. By using gentle, hands-on techniques, OMT helps improve the body's alignment and mobility, which can also alleviate issues like acid reflux and enhance overall comfort. This holistic approach supports the body's natural ability to adapt to the physical changes of pregnancy, promoting both maternal and fetal well-being.
-
An osteopathic physician (DO) is a fully licensed medical doctor who combines traditional medical care with a holistic approach, using a wide range of hands-on techniques like osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to promote overall health and healing. Chiropractors (DCs), while not medical doctors, specialize in spinal alignment to optimize the function of the nervous system and improve wellness. Both professions emphasize the body’s natural ability to heal, with DOs offering a broader medical scope and chiropractors focusing on targeted, non-invasive spinal care to support overall well-being.

The key difference between Cranial Osteopathy and Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) lies in the level of training and professional background of the practitioner. Cranial Osteopathy, introduced by William Garner Sutherland, DO, in 1929, is a diagnostic and treatment modality practiced by licensed osteopathic physicians as part of a comprehensive medical plan. It is an integral component of the physician's overall management of a patient’s health, rather than a standalone therapy. In contrast, CST, developed by Dr. John Upledger, is a "light touch" therapy that can be practiced by individuals with as little as 8 days of training, often without any formal medical background. While CST is based on principles derived from Cranial Osteopathy, it is a distinct practice with varying levels of regulation depending on the state. Both modalities share similar roots, but Cranial Osteopathy is grounded in a broader medical framework, whereas CST is often practiced independently by therapists from diverse backgrounds.
